In November 2021, the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) announced the grand prize winners for the 2020 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards. During a virtual ceremony, MSU Culinary Services was awarded the Grand Prize for the Residential Dining Facility category! The university’s entry in this category recognizes the allergen-free dining hall Thrive at Owen Hall.
Thrive is Certified Free From™ the Big 8 allergens (eggs, fish, milk, peanuts, shellfish, soy, tree nuts and wheat) plus gluten. As the number of students reporting food allergies continued to rise nearly 175% each year, MSU placed emphasis on expanding our food allergy program, with Thrive serving as an essential component to success.
