Exciting New Ways to Use Your Combo-X-Change Swipes!

MSU Culinary Services is offering a fresh and interactive way for students to use their Combo-X-Change (CX) swipes! All MSU students with an active dining plan are invited to participate in a series of unique events designed to bring flavor, fun and community together.

How to Join:
Simply register for an event by paying with your CX swipes, no extra cost! But donโ€™t wait; each experience has limited seating, so early registration is encouraged.

โ—Important Notes

ALL EVENTS ARE PRE-PAID WITH COMBOS FROM MSU DINING PLANS. YOUR COMBOS WILL BE SUBTRACTED ON THE MONDAY PRECEDING THE EVENT. 

  • A minimum number of participants is required for each event to take place.
  • If an event is canceled due to low registration, youโ€™ll be notified, and no swipes will be deducted from your account.

Registration Cancellation Policy

  • If you need to cancel your registration, please do so at least two business days (Monday-Friday) before the Monday of the event week.
  • Late cancellations or no-shows will still incur charges for CXs.
  • Please let us know early so we can offer your seat to someone on the waitlist!

    The Art of the Crepe

    Join Chef Bill for a hands-on culinary experience focused on the art of crepe making, one of France's most versatile dishes. Learn how to prepare, cook and fill crepes with both sweet and savory ingredients while picking up tips and techniques from the chef. Watch a live demonstration, then step behind the station to learn the techniques yourself.

    Allergen Notice: Menu items in this event will include eggs, milk, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, and wheat/gluten.

    Student Organic Farm-to-Fork Feast: Chefโ€™s Table Edition
    Hosts: Executive Chef Dustin Ignash and Sous Chef Joe Balander

    Enjoy an unforgettable evening featuring a five-course meal prepared by Chefs Dustin and Joe. This chef's table experience highlights fresh ingredients grown at MSU's Student Organic Farm and thoughtfully crafted into an appetizer, soup, salad, entrรฉe and dessert. Learn more about local food production and experience a true farm-to-table evening at MSU.

    Itโ€™s a Michigan Classic: Learn to Make Pasties from Scratch

    Discover a Michigan tradition in this hands-on cooking class! Learn to make one of Michiganโ€™s most iconic foods from scratch! Participants will prepare traditional Michigan pasties, master the art of folding flaky pastry and discover the rich history behind this Upper Peninsula favorite. Leave with a delicious pasty and the skills to recreate it at home.

    The Sweet Side of Culture: Dessert Creations

    Travel the world through dessert in this hands-on culinary workshop with Chef Luke. Learn how to make chocolate truffles, Brazilian Brigadeiro and caramel apples while exploring the stories and traditions behind each treat. Best of all, you'll get to sample your creations and take some home to share โ€” or keep for yourself.

    โ€œDough Itโ€ Yourself: Hands-On Pierogi Making Class

    Host: Executive Sous Chef Douglas Reska

    Chef Doug created an interactive workshop on making homemade pierogi from start to finish. From preparing dough and crafting fillings to shaping and cooking the final product, participants will gain practical culinary skills while enjoying a fun, engaging experience.

    Dickens Dinner: Classic English-Inspired Dinner

    No humbugs allowed! Join the State Room team for an elegant evening inspired by Charles Dickens and the timeless charm of A Christmas Carol. With a showstopping seven-course English-inspired menu, our chefs bring the magic of the season to MSU students for one night only. This one you won't want to miss!
