Culinary Services: 2024-25 Important Dates/Special Hours
MSU Culinary Services operates on a condensed/limited basis during holidays and breaks. Please note that these hours may impact dining locations in your neighborhood. Current hours of operation are always available on our dining hours page.
Fall Semester 2024
- AYCE Meal Plans are active from Monday, Aug. 19 through Friday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m.
- Dining Plan Contracts
- Includes: Unlimited AYCE (all you care to eat) and 12 CX swipes per week
- Excludes: Thanksgiving Break from Thursday, Nov. 28 through Saturday, Nov. 30
Labor Day
- Monday, Sept. 2, 2024
- All residential (AYCE) dining locations are open except The Vista at Shaw, Holden and Holmes Dining
- Retail Dining locations may have limited hours or are closed
Fall Break
- Monday, Oct. 21-Tuesday, Oct. 22
- All retail dining locations are open with regular fall hours
- Retail dining locations may have limited hours or are closed
Thanksgiving Break
- Thursday, Nov. 28-Sunday, Dec. 1
- All dining locations close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, except for Kellogg Market, open until 7 p.m.
- All dining locations except for Kellogg Market are closed Thursday, Nov. 28-Saturday, Nov. 30
- Select residential and retail dining locations are open on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 4:30 p.m.

Winter Break
- Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024-Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025
- All dining locations will close at 3 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, except for Kellogg Market, open until 7 p.m.
- All fall on-campus dining plans end at 3 p.m. on Dec. 13
- Limited dining locations will be open during Winter Break
- Meal purchases are available as a pre-paid package through Live On or pay at the door
Spring Semester 2025
- AYCE dining plans begin on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, and end on Friday, May 2, at 3 p.m.;
- Dining Plan Contracts Include:
- Unlimited AYCE (all you care to eat) and 12 CX swipes per week
- Spring Break (March 1-9)
- Dining locations will have limited hours of operation;

MLK Day
- Monday, Jan. 20
- All residential dining locations are open, except the Vista at Shaw
- Limited retail dining locations are open
Spring Break
- Saturday, March 1-Sunday, March 9
- Limited dining and retail locations and hours will be open

Ramadan
- Friday, Feb. 28-Sunday, March 30
- Accommodations are made for students who observe Ramadan related to food options
- Students may pick up food from both AYCE or retail dining locations as a take-home option to eat later
- The dining units with special menus specifically for Ramadan, including a take-home breakfast option to eat before sunup, are:
- Brody Square
- The Edge at Akers
- South Pointe at Case
- The Gallery at Sny/Phi
Easter
- Sunday, April 20
- All residential dining locations are open with spring semester hours
- Brunch options will be available for the lunch starting at 11 a.m.
- Limited retail dining locations will be open.

Passover
- Dinner on Saturday, April 12 through dinner on Sunday, April 20
- Kosher for Passover are available for both lunch and dinner in the following locations:

Summer Semester 2025
- AYCE dining plans begin on Monday, May 5 and end on Thursday, Aug. 14
- Dining Plan Contracts, include:
- Both first and second sessions,
- The second session will only be billed if a student remains on campus
- Unlimited AYCE (all you care to eat) and 12 CX swipes per week
