The Great Apple Crunch is an annual celebration of fresh, local apples on the second Thursday of October, during National Farm to School Month.
Michigan State University (MSU) Culinary Services will participate in the celebration on Thursday, Oct. 13!
Apple Crunch Day at MSU
- Select dining halls will feature apples in their menus (see below for details)
- MSU Bakers will supply special apple desserts.
- Complimentary fresh whole Michigan apples will be available at all retail and residential dining hall locations.
Did You Know?
- Michigan is the nation’s third largest producer of apples.
- There are more than 14.9 million apple trees across 775 family-run farms in Michigan.
- Michigan Apple Growers will harvest 29.5 million bushels in 2022.
