Ramadan Dining Options for 2022

Spartans observing Ramadan will have dining options available from MSU Culinary Services. Four of our residential dining halls on campus will offer prepackaged breakfast options and dinner selections.

Breakfast Options

Two prepackaged breakfast options will be available to pick up each day during dinner service at Brody Square, South Pointe at Case, The Vista at Shaw and The Edge at Akers.

Students choosing to pick up a breakfast option during dinner service are required to use a Combo-X-Change meal per our usual takeout process.

Daily breakfast options available to pick up during dinner include the following:

Option A

  • Hard-cooked eggs
  • Vegetable quinoa bowl with halal chicken
  • Two slices of naan bread with peanut butter
  • 4-5 dates
  • Milk and mango juice

Option B

  • Hard-cooked eggs
  • Apple raisin overnight oats
  • Two slices of naan bread with peanut butter
  • 4-5 dates
  • Milk and mango juice

Dinner Options

For dinner service during Ramadan, our menus will include a halal protein complete plate option as well as an occasional vegan/vegetarian complete plate option.

Guests can find these dinner selections at the following locations in each campus neighborhood for dine in or takeout. As a reminder, takeout is considered a Combo-X-Change meal.

  • Brody Square (backside of Pangea venue)
  • South Pointe at Case (front side of Great Lakes Plate venue)
  • The Vista at Shaw (Breadbox venue)
  • The Edge at Akers (Sticks and Noodles venue)

Dinner menus will offer a variety of flavors throughout Ramadan. Please use the links below to access our spring semester dining hours and online menus.

In addition to residential dining hall offerings, our Sparty’s mini-market locations on campus will also offer additional Combo-X-Change options during Ramadan, including halal items.
