The Gallery Creates an All-out Broadway Experience

Culinary Services (CS) team members collaborated to put on a dinner event deserving of a Tony Award! On Thursday, Feb. 21, nearly 1,000 Spartans walked the red carpet to enter The Gallery at Snyder/Phillips for A Night on Broadway.

Venues within the hall presented dining themes from nine Broadway favorites, like Hamilton, The Phantom of the Opera, Shrek and Chicago. Each had a marquee sign that lit up and relevant décor to bring the show to life.

On the menu was a mix of small-plate style cuisine as well as interactive stations. Guests enjoyed deviled eggs, mini presidential chicken, poached salmon, carved beef prime rib rubs, twice-baked potatoes, assorted mini bagel pizzas, caprese with prosciutto, chicken cordon bleu soup, cheese fondue, sushi kimbap roll, hot chocolate with toppings, mini desserts and more.

While they indulged in delicious fare, a variety of performances kept the audience entertained, including Music Education and Vocal Performance junior Jarod Moyer and accompanist Cwen Homa from the MSU Community Music School.

Students were encouraged to share content on social media through an Instagram contest. One user shared “I love events like this! Love my school!! Thank you @eatatstate for holding this event at my favorite dining hall!”

A variety of partners helped bring everything together, including MSU Bakers, The Vista at Shaw dining team, REHS Facilities, the MSU College of Music, the Wharton Center for Performing Arts and MSU IT Services. Thank you to everyone who contributed their time and efforts to provide a night to remember for Spartans!
