MSU Culinary Services (CS) is proud to host the annual Student Spartan Chefs competition, which allows student chefs to showcase their culinary skills. Stop by Brody Square on Tuesday, March 27 beginning at 4:30 p.m. to cheer them on as they create an entrée and side dish out of a mystery basket of ingredients presented to their team.
Early in the spring semester each year, students compete for the opportunity to represent their neighborhood or area at the campus-wide event. In the 2018 preliminary round, they were charged with developing a vegan entrée recipe. In addition, executive chefs and sous chefs mentor them throughout the process, helping students learn how to work with certain ingredients, plate their dishes and collaborate during the timed event.
