MDA Shamrocks Program

Throughout the month of February, Sparty's is proud to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). From Feb. 5-March 3, purchase a shamrock for $1 or $5 and write your name on it for display on site at the store, or make a donation in designated canisters near the register at all Sparty’s locations.

MSU Bakers Valentine Sugar Cookies

Join MSU Bakers in supporting American Heart Month throughout February, as they raise funds for the American Heart Association! For every purchase of seasonal products with a Valentine’s Day theme, MSU Bakers will donate $1 to the organization and increase awareness of fighting heart disease in the community.

Culinary Services chefs began the new year with an internal Culinary Challenge. On Jan. 5, 2018, four of our team members competed for the opportunity to represent Michigan State University (MSU) at the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Midwest Regional Conference.

Chef Jason Ziobrowski

Chef Jason “Jay Z” Ziobrowski, CEC, from InHarvest is visiting MSU from Dec. 11-14, 2017. InHarvest is a premier provider of rice, rice blends, exotic grains and legumes to the world's top creative chefs, restaurants, schools, U.S. military and other foodservice partners.

Beaumont Tower

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 10, finals week dining hours will be in effect through Friday, Dec. 15. As you prepare to end the semester, enjoy extended hours at Sparty's located within residence halls to help keep you nourished.

Residential dining halls will remain open through 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15. Brody Square and The Edge at Akers will reopen from 5-7 p.m. for dinner and transition to winter break hours.

Beauty and the Beast Dinner

For more than 30 years, MSU Culinary Services (CS) has partnered with the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition (FSHN) to enhance academics and provide hands-on experiences for their students.

Heritage Commons at Landon Team Members

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Culinary Services team held an annual Holiday Dinner at all residential dining halls across campus. Students, faculty/staff and members of the surrounding community gathered to indulge in specialty menu items and signature desserts.

Asia Henderson

Asia Henderson, a junior majoring in creative advertising, was recently awarded a scholarship to help further her education. She is a student team member at the MSU Union Food Court.

Spartan Signature Dining Napkins

Spartan Linen Services (SLS) is pleased to offer Spartan Signature Dining Napkins just in time for the holiday season! Napkins are American made, 100% spun polyester, giving them the feel of soft cotton. Each of the four 20” x 20” napkins included per package are highly durable and feature a woven Spartan helmet logo.

Culinary Throwdown

In addition to facing off on the football field, MSU and the University of Michigan (U-M) competed in the 3rd annual Culinary Throwdown on Saturday, Oct. 7. The cooking challenge featured three rounds of competition, with student chefs, sous chefs and executive chefs from each school developing an innovative dish to present to judges.
