MSU Bakers Pink Swirl Cupcakes

MSU Bakers is proud to continue supporting National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, a portion of proceeds from each purchase of pink swirl cupcakes from msubakers.com and the bakery storefront will benefit Spartans Fighting Cancer.

Spartan Chicken Sandwich Wars

MSU Executive Chefs created unique recipes for our own version of the Chicken Sandwich Wars. Try ‘em all during lunch service the week of Monday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 4 (11 a.m.-2 p.m. each day).

MSU Bakers is now a nut-conscious facility! All items sold are made without peanut or tree nut containing ingredients. In January 2019, Culinary Services (CS) began the Reimagining the Future initiative. As part of the initiative, department teams have been working toward accomplishing short- and long-term goals.

MSU Corporate Executive Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski was recently inducted into the American Academy of Chefs (AAC), the honor society of the American Culinary Federation. AAC represents the highest standards of professionalism in the organization, society and industry.

As we begin a fresh season of Michigan State football, the MSU Concessions team is pleased to launch two new venue concepts in Spartan Stadium. These options will enhance healthful choices, provide delicious allergen-friendly fare and increase flexibility for dining plan holders.

Salted Caramel Mocha

On Aug. 27, Starbucks locations on campus launched fall favorites, including the Pumpkin Spice Latte, Salted Caramel Mocha, Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin and the new Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. These seasonal favorites can be found at the 1855 Place, Broad College of Business or Wells Hall locations. The Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew introduced is the first new pumpkin cold coffee beverage since the PSL joined the menu in 2013.

The Clean Plates at State food waste program at MSU helps put environmental sustainability into perspective for campus dining hall guests. The program seeks to reduce the amount of food waste on campus through educational initiatives and a recurring food waste analysis conducted annually in all residential dining halls. Electronic scales weigh each customer's plate subtracting a tare allowance for every type of plate across campus.

The Culinary Services team is proud to announce that MSU Dairy Store is now the single source for hard pack (scooped) ice cream in residential dining halls.

Panera Bread at The Minskoff Pavilion

The new Panera Bread bakery-café is now open on campus at the Edward J. Minskoff Pavilion, an addition to the MSU Broad College of Business. The location opened Aug. 1, celebrating with a giveaway of free stainless steel tumblers to the first 500 customers who registered for the MyPanera loyalty program.

MSU Culinary Services is pleased to share that new restaurant venues are coming to the MSU Union Food Court! The three current venues, Union Deli, Union Pizzeria and Serrano’s, will transition to offer the campus community more variety and unique meal selections.
