In the summer and early fall, the MSU College of Music invites the public to experience the ambiance of music and garden flora during a series of Music in the Garden outdoor concerts. The Eat at State ON-THE-GO Food Truck will be on site at W.J. Beal Botanical Garden offering food service during upcoming events for 2018.
EAST LANSING, Mich. — Starbucks locations on campus at Michigan State University (MSU) will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, to allow team members to participate in company-wide racial-bias education. This includes Starbucks stores at 1855 Place, Wells Hall and Eli Broad College of Business as well as the Proudly Serving Café at Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum.
On Saturday, May 5, 2018, summer dining hours go into effect for all dining operations on campus until international student early arrival begins Saturday, Aug. 19, 2018.
AIB International, a technology and information-based organization for bakers and food processors, is visiting MSU Bakers May 8-11, 2018, to conduct training.
Don Donagrandi, the Brody Neighborhood dining manager for MSU Culinary Services, has been selected as a recipient of the Jack Breslin Distinguished Staff Award. He oversees operations for Brody Square and Heritage Commons at Landon, which serve approximately 1.5 million meals per year combined.
Beginning Sunday, April 29, spring semester finals week dining hours will be in effect through Friday, May 4.
Residential dining halls will remain open through 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4, with Brody Square and The Vista at Shaw reopening for dinner at 5 p.m. Spring semester dining plans end at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4. Owen plans will remain active through Friday, May 11 for those with later commencements.
On Saturday, April 14, MSU Starbucks team members traveled to the south side of campus to volunteer at the MSU Student Organic Farm (SOF). The community service project was organized in honor of the MSU Day of Service and Starbucks Global Month of Service recognized in April.
At a recent American Culinary Federation (ACF) ChefConnect regional conference, Culinary Services (CS) Corporate Chef Kurt Kwiatkowski received one of the highest honors bestowed by the organization.
On Tuesday, March 27, MSU Culinary Services (CS) hosted the 2018 Student Spartan Chefs competition at Brody Square. Five teams of two competed in a Chopped-style cooking contest for the chance to win customized chef coats and bragging rights for their neighborhood or area.
